Research and Development Activities : The Master's degree programme in Ecology started in July 1996 and the M. Phil programme from January 1999. The department is pursuing research in various thrust areas such as Biodiversity Conservation, Resource Management, Environmental Impact Assessment, Ecology of Rivers and Wetlands, Forests, Tea and Agro-ecosystem, Microbial Ecology, Remote Sensing and Pest Management.
